Hollywood in Brasov

The second and third day in Romania, we headed to the city in west north of capital, Brasov, a city which featured abundant beautiful landscapes and unique architectures, besides, the history there were pretty diverse since it had been ruled by lots of regimes, and this told us why the buildings were so different. As we arrived at Brasov train station, the first thing came into my mind was that what we should do next, we stuck at the gate of the station for almost thirty minutes, and of course, caught lot of passerby's' eyes later on. After checking maps several times, we finally figure how to go to "Bran Castle". However, when we got on the bus, the trouble was just about to come to us. I was standing beside drivers then, and I wanted to make sure if we took the correct bus, after I told him our destination, he appeared to be very uncertain and told us we might take the wrong one, me and my friend were shocked by his words, so we made the double-check again with him and, this time, he seems more uncertain, then he asked whether we had map or not, so I soon ask the one of our members standing at the very back of the bus and send the map to me, and we pointed our destination on the map to drivers, then within a second, driver finally figured out where we wanted to go, and that was the moment I realized my pronunciation of "Bran Castle" was kind of wrong, "Bran" was pronounced as "brown", not"brain", so he originally thought we were going to "Black Church", which was in our schedule on the second day in Brasov. After he told us where to take the shuttle bus to "Bran Castle", we get off the bus and kept thanking the driver for helping us, ended the crisis. Then within forty minutes, we finally arrive at "Bran Castle", which was also known as " Dracula's Castle" and had the movie published. When we got there, It was almost one o'clock, so our teacher asked us to go eating dinner separately, I and some friends went around the streets first, and found out that was pretty tough for us to make the decision cause there are lots of special restaurants, to be more clearly, all thing are special for us. It took us thirty minutes to find just a single restaurant, later did we realized our time was running out, we soon picked one. Inside the restaurant, there were plenty of decorations, unfortunately, I didn't watch each of them clearly cause I had to study the menu which was written in Romanian and English, but the form of the words really bothered us. It took me another thirty minutes to do the order, so we used no longer than forty minutes to have lunch.

Then, was the time to check such mysteries. To reach the castle, we climbed slope for fifty miles, the view along the slope were stunning and I immersed in the atmosphere as soon as I could. After a slope, I saw a view I had never seen before until then, a high, not big, but classical architecture building stand on the top of the slope, just right in front of us. Then, one of our members proposed to take a picture on the stairs and kept the sight straight, so all of us took a picture in return, and it soon became our profiles on facebook as we connected to the network. Then with a deep breath, I walked into the entrance of the castle, and the first feeling I felt is all about the smell of ages, though the air inside, I could know the castle had stood there for a long period of time, and the status of it could not be eliminated forever. The structure of the castle, I could not remember the decorations of it clearly, but I still remember there was a tunnel which led us to the second floor, and it only allowed a single person to walk through it one time, so we had to lined up at the bottom of it. In the second floor, there were more decorations and we could see the whole of the castle outside the balcony. Besides, there was a bedroom which was said that it belonged to the last owner of the castle, and there were also a lot of weapons such as knives and shield hanging on the wall, then was also the first time I saw that kind of things, that was pretty cool. And the one impressed me the most was the window of the room, through the windows, I could see the beautiful scene behind the castle, it was mountains covered with grass, it was just stunning. And again, we took lots of time to take pictures in the castle. At the center of the castle were balance made up by stones, a well, and a secret. Inside the well were lots of coins, so I soon picked out one dollar Lei( Romanian currency) and threw into the well, then at a corner, there was a notebook signed with many people's signatures, so I called our members to come there and we found a page with a masterpiece, thus, we "stole" that page and the work was surrounded by all of our signatures. The last thirty minutes in the castle, we went to the souvenir shop to buy something valuable, I bought some magnets and postcards, those were featured either the image of the Dracula or the beautiful landscape there, we had a group at the bottom of the castle and then, we back to the hotel.

However, the bad thing happened again, this time, we could recognize the route to the hotel, which was nearby Black Church and Council Square, when we arrived at the hotel, it was not clear what took us a lot of time to check in, this was not bad enough, though. After checking into the boy's room( we only had one room for all of us), the concierge told us the room booked for girls previous had been substituted, so the owner said one of her friend had an apartment nearby, thus, girls were sent eventually. Because it took us almost one and half hour to get the thing done, we pick KFC to have our dinner, and what was more amazing here was that we hold an emergency meeting to improve the schedule for the next day, and the meeting didn't end until the restaurant closed, and we all walked back to the hotel, ended the wonderful, amazing day in Brasov.
